A Nigerian woman stabs boyfriend to death after a heated argument over who will cook food turned ugly in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar.
Police have identified the deceased as 30-year-old Euzu, who ran an export business in Uttam Nagar.
Police said that they learnt about the incident after they received a call from a hospital in Uttam Nagar in connection to death of a Nigerian citizen due to multiple stabbing on Sunday wee hours.
Police added during course of investigation they learnt that the deceased was killed by his girlfriend after an heated argument.
“We have arrested the accused,” said a police official part of the investigating team.
Police have identified the accused as Elvie Uzuma.
Police said on questioning Uzuma they learnt that she had called Eezu to her residence on Saturday afternoon.
She further told the police that an argument over cooking started between the two which turned violent within minutes.
Police added that the fight between the two was neutralize for minutes after neighbours intervened but it soon resumed as intervenors left.
The accused told the police she picked up a kitchen knife to scare Eezu as he was constantly physically assaulting her.
“Uzuma told us that she had picked the knife to warn Euzu. She stabbed him multiple times after he assaulted her again in spite of the warning,” said Police.
Police added, “She even told us Euzo locked him in a room after being stabbed. When he did not open the door for several minutes she called her friends and rushed him to hospital where he was declared brought dead.”
The Delhi police added that Uzuma on learning that death returned to her house from where she was arrested.
