Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurates bridge connecting Leh to north eastern Ladakh

New Delhi:

During her visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday visited forward locations of Leh, Ladakh and Siachen. Sitharaman reviewed security situation and also interacted with soldiers.

Defence Minister inaugurated ‘Pratham-Shyok’ bridge in Leh which will connect the region to Karakoram in north eastern Ladakh.

Earlier on Friday, Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday reached on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir where she would review the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Valley and Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh region.

She was received by Northern Army Commander and the Chinar Corps Commander at the Old Airfield. Sitharaman also visited one of the forward posts on the LoC in Kashmir.
