It came as a blow to the confidence of Sasikala faction when Madurai (South) MLA S.S. Saravanan claimed that all the 115 legislators of the AIADMK (Sasikala) camp who have been kept as captives in the resort on East Coast Road were emotionally and physically traumatised.
Extending support to Pannerselvam faction, Saravanan the number of MLAs in the Chief Minister's camp rose by eight (including Panneerselvam), even as 12 Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs are backing him.
Saravanan alleged that party MLAs were being detained at the Koovathur resort and claimed he had given a slip by wearing a t-shirt and Bermuda (shorts).
“If a floor test is held today, Panneerselvam will win it. Both those who have come to his side and those who have not will vote for him,” he said.

The apex court is likely to deliver its verdict in the DA case at 10:30am on Tuesday. The against-verdict could end Sasikala’s career while a dismissal will pave her path to the Poes Garden.
