Parliament Monsoon Session: Rajiv Gandhi did not have courage to implement Assam NRC: Amit Shah

New Delhi, News Nation Bureau | Updated : 31 July 2018, 05:30 PM

With the final draft of Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) released on Monday, a new political debate has been taking the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament by storm.

While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned following TMC's uproar over non-inclusion of 40 lakh people in Assam NRC list on Monday, other opposition parties like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday joined hands to protest against the National Register of Citizens in Assam.

TDP MPs, on the other hand, continued their protest in Parliament, demanding a special category status for Andhra Pradesh while RJD MP Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav raised the issue of waterlogging in Patna's Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH).

Another big issue, being raised in the Parliament on Tuesday is the decade-old Rohingya row. Talking about the illegal infiltration across the border, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “Have issued an advisory to states to monitor those who have already come and kept them at one place and not let them spread. States also have the right to deport them”.
