Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced ex gratia relief of Rs. 1 Lakh to the next of Kin of E-rickshaw driver Ravindra Kumar who was beaten to death for stopping two people from urinating in the public in New Delhi.
PM Modi who initiated the Swatchh Bharat drive has sanctioned the relief amount from Prime Minister's National Relief fund condemned the incident and directed police authorities to punish the culprits behind the brutal act.
Ravindra Kumar, a 32-year-old E-rickshaw driver on Sunday opposed some men from urinating publicaly outside New Delhi's GTB nagar metro station. The act didn't go down well with them and they beaten him up to death.
Earlier in the day, Urban Developmnet Minister Venkaih Naidu visited the family of Ravindra Kumar in GTB Nagar. Naidu also handed over a cheque of Rs. 50 thousand from his salary and said the culprits must be punished.
Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Part has also announced relief amount of Rs. 5 Lakh to the family of Ravindra Kumar. Â
