PM Modi’s Noida visit: City turns into fortress; 5 battalions engaged in security duty

Noida:

Uttar Pradesh’s Noida has been turned into a fortress ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city to inaugurate Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line on December 25.

PM Modi will inaugurate the Magenta Line interchange at Botanical Garden and then address a public rally at Amity University ground in Sector 125. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also in the city. He will also participate in the inaugural function and address public along with the prime minister.

The authorities in Noida were seen busy briefing the security arrangements ahead of PM Modi’s visit.  Special security has been beefed up especially areas around Botanical Garden and Amity University.

According to a senior official, PM Modi’s helicopter will land at an temporary helipad made in Botanical Garden and he will travel by road to Amity University.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Noida on December 23 and inspected the security arrangements made at Botanical Garden and Amity University for PM’s visit.

According to a senior police officer, around 5000 security personnel from Uttar Pradesh Police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been engaged in the security of the Prime Minister.

He added, 95 officers including 15 superintendent of police (SP), 25 assistant superintendent of police (ASP) and 45 deputy superintendent of police (DSP) have been deployed in PM security duty.

The senior police officer further added that 1900 police constables and 600 traffic police personnel have been engaged to ensure smooth movement of traffic during PM Modi’s visit. “Around 100 fire personnel and fire tenders have been deployed in strategic locations,” he added.

The officer further added that commando’s and snipers of central agencies will take control of all high-rise buildings near the venues to be visited by PM Modi and CM Adityanath.
