New Delhi:

Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly stalking and molesting a 19-year-old Delhi University student at a metro station in the national capital.

The victim lodged a complaint against a 22-year-old man at Rithala Metro Police station.

The girl in her complaint mentioned that she along with her cousin had gone to Pulbangash Metro Station in Central Delhi. The accused, identified as Akshay Kumar, touched her inappropriately and hurled abuses on her.

She also told the police that he had been stalking them for a while on the metro.

The victim also mentioned in her complaint that the youth offered her friendship proposal and warned her of dire consequences if she denied the proposal.

Deputy commissioner of police (Metro) Pankaj Kumar Singh told the media that an FIR has been registered at the Rithala Metro Police station.

“We have arrested the youth,” the DCP added.

The accused has been sent to judicial custody  by a local court.
