New Delhi:
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said he has lot of respect for UPA’s presidential candidate and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, but there is no going back on his decision to support NDA’s pick Ram Nath Kovind.
Nitish said “Bihar ki Beti” has been nominated only to lose. He questioned Congress, that why the grand old party had not nominated Meira ji for presidential nominee in past when it twice had the chance winning the polls.
Nitish said,"This is not a political issue, and it should not be made a subject of political confrontation."

He further added that they have taken independent decisions in the past also, and they had supported Pranab Mukherjee as President despite being in NDA.

He said they have taken the decision afater taking each acount under consideration.
