New Delhi:
A Maulana has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting students at a Madarsa in Katraj area of Pune, a Maharashtra police official said on Friday. The police have also rescued 36 students, who were held in the madrasa, and registered a case against the accused.
“Maulana of a Madarsa has been arrested for sexually assaulting his students in Katraj, Pune. Total 36 students have been rescued. We have registered a case against him,†ANI quoted Milind Gaikwad, Inspector, as saying.
Gaikwad said that a case has been registered against the Maulana under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation was underway.
