The holy month of Saavan this year is even more auspicious as it will have five instead of four Monday. The Hindu calendar month, Saavan, dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshipped on Monday, this makes the month very auspicious for Shiva followers this year.
Set to begin on July 10, Saavan will be 29 days long and will thus begin and end on Monday. The last day of the month will be celebrated as Raksha Bandhan.
The astrologers say that such an occasion comes rarely when devotees get to celebrate five Mondays in the month of Saavan.
July 9 will be celebrated as Guru Purnima
July 10 will be first Monday of Saavan
July 17, second, July 24 and July 31 will be second, third and fourth Mondays of the Saavan
August 7 will be last Monday. There will be a lunar eclipse of his day.
