New Delhi:

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who recently had a narrow escape after his plane was hit by a technical snag, on Sunday announced that he would take a 15-day break after Karnataka elections to go on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar.

During the “Jan Aakrosh Rally” at Delhi’s Ramlila ground, Gandhi narrated Thursday’s flight snag incident that almost scared him to death.

“Two-three days ago when I was going to Karnataka, the plane nosedived 8000 feet and I thought it’s all over. As I thought that, it struck me I want to go to Kailash Mansarovar,” the Congress president said.

“And I need 10-15 days leave from you to go to Kailash Mansarovar after the Karnataka elections,” Gandhi sought “permission” from the workers.

The Congress president on Sunday held a mega ‘Jan Aakrosh Rally’ to showcase the “public outrage” against "public outrage" against Narendra Modi government over several issues, including women safety, increasing farm crisis and unemployment.

During the rally, the Gandhi scion launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sounded poll bugle for the 2019 general elections.

Addressing a large gathering of over 40 thousand people, Gandhi slammed Modi for not delivering on the promises he had made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that after surpassing expectations in Gujarat elections, Congress would win the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and emerge victorious in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
