New Delhi:

Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken on Sunday thanked the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for setting up and inviting the Congress for an all-party meeting to address the sealing issue in the city. The BJP, on the other hand, is yet to respond to the invite after consulting state unit chief Manoj Tiwari.

Kejriwal had written to both Maken and Tiwari, inviting them for the meeting which is scheduld to take on place on Tuesday at his residence, and said, “We should rise above politics and come together to find a solution to the problems that have risen due to sealing.”

Ajay Maken, who had written a letter to Kejriwal on Saturday offering to share a solution to stop the ongoing sealing drive, thanked the CM for accepting his request and calling an all-party meeting.

He tweeted, “Dear Kejriwal ji, you gave us time on our request. Thank you. It is very good that you invited the BJP party which rules the MCD and the Center. Positive politics is needed. I hope that the BJP will also be involved. We will meet with suggestions on the solution on Tuesday.”

Maken also praised the CM for inviting the BJP leaders for the meeting. Kejriwal invited the BJP since the saffron flag rules three municipal corporations of Delhi, while the Congress expressed hope that the BJP will participate in the meeting and said that the situation demands “positive politics”.

The Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari is abroad as a part of a delegation accompanying President Ram Nath Kovind and first lady Savita Kovind in Mauritius and will return by March 15. An office bearer of the party said that a firm decision on the meeting will be taken once Tiwari returns.

The sealing drive was undertaken by the municipal corporations in December last year in the national capital on the directions of a Supreme Court-appointed committee. Hundreds of commercial establishments have been sealed under the drive, with so far non-payment of conversion charges and violation of the Delhi Master Plan.

Ajay Maken on Sunday addressed a gathering of workers in Amar Colony area of South Delhi and said that he will give a solution to the sealing problem in the all-party meeting conducted on Tuesday.
