New Delhi:
Murder of a Delhi woman in front of two-year-old son in a car at Shalimar Bagh, earlier believed to be a road-rage killing, took a dramatic twist after husband confessed to her killing to reunite with his first-wife.
Delhi Police said, Pankaj Mehra, a businessman and the deceased Priya Mehra’s husband, during questioning spilled the beans of the murder.
According to a senior Delhi Police official, Pankaj confessed before the probing team that he murdered Priya while she and son was sleeping.
Pankaj told the police that he killed Priya to reunite with his first wife and cooked up a story that they were attacked by bike-borne criminals. Delhi Police is yet to recover the weapon used in the killing.
Pankaj also told the probing team that he wanted to implicate those whom he owed money in the murder case. The Delhi Police earlier believed the murder to be road-rage killing.

Pankaj on Wednesday had told the police that they were returning from a Gurudwara when bike-borne criminals overtook their car and opened fire. Priya suffered severe bullet injuries, while Pankaj and the infant escaped the attack uninjured. Priya was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
