Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that previous governments had ignored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution. Sheila said that they have never ignored Sardar Patel’s contribution.
"Nothing like that, this is wrong. We have never ignored Sardar Patel's contribution," said Dikshit.
PM Modi on Tuesday morning flagged off Run for ‘Run for Unity’ from Major Dhyan National Stadium in New Delhi on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
On the occasion, PM Modi said that previous government tried to ensure that the contribution of Sardar Patel is forgotten.
"People tried to ensure the contribution of Sardar Patel is forgotten. But the youth of India respects him and his contribution towards the building of our nation," said PM Modi.
"Proud of his contribution to India before we attained freedom and during the early years after we became independent," said PM Modi on Sardar Patel.
