New Delhi:

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked PM Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for not coming out and speak on the Punjab National Bank scam.

Rahul Gandhi said Arun Jaitley is hiding and by not speaking on the India biggest banking scam worth Rs 22,000 crore, PM Modi is behaving like guilty.

“PM Modi tells kids how to pass exams for 2 hrs, but won't speak for 2 mins on the 22,000Cr banking scam.  Mr Jaitley is in hiding.  Stop behaving as if you're guilty! Speak up.  #ModiRobsIndia,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

In what could be India’s biggest scam in the banking sector, Punjab National Bank last week filed an FIR with the CBI about the fraudulent transactions worth over Rs 11,000 crore.

Diamond czar Nirav Modi, his uncle Mehul Choksi, who, the Congress claims were close to Prime Minister Modi, allegedly defrauded the Punjab National Bank by making the fraudulent transactions of over Rs 11,300 crore through 151 letters of understanding.

However, the tax department has estimated that the banks could take a hit of more than USD 3 billion (Around Rs 20,000 Crore) by the PNB bank scam.

Both Congress and BJP are blaming each other for the scam while the key accused are still on the run and the government has no clue about their whereabouts.

According to the FIR filed by CBI, most of the loans were given to the accused under Modi government in 2017.
