New Delhi:

DMK leaders began hunger strike protest against forcible eviction of MLAs from Tamil Nadu Assembly during vote of confidence on February 18.

The protest decision was taken by party working president M K Stalin after consulting with party MLAs.

Days before, DMK had appealed Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao to 'nullify' the vote of confidence won by Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

Earlier, there were incidents of violence inside state assembly followed  by violent protests Tamil Nadu Assembly before crucial vote of confidence by Edapady Palanisamy government.

Stalin had told media that his party members were allegedly beaten up and forcefully evicted from the house.
