New Delhi:
Police on Sunday arrested Tamil television actress Sangeetha Balan for allegedly running a prostitution racket in a Chennai resort.
Another person named Satish, who was a key aide of the actress, was also arrested by the police, according to ANI.
The duo allegedly lured young girls by making false promises of providing them well-paid jobs and a chance to feature in TV serials.
Both the accused were sent to jail after being produced before a Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chennai.
Balan, a known face in Tamil TV industry, made her acting debut in 1996 with Tamil film Karuppu Roja. She has also worked in few hit flicks like Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum. Currently, she was playing the role of Sundari Kaaliappan in Vani Rani.
