New Delhi:

The government has been urging the public to link Aadhaar card with every scheme, bank account and income tax documents. While such measures may have yielded some benefits and some pain for the consumers, no one could have thought of its hidden magical ability to reunite families.

Three boys, living in a Bangalore-based government child care centre, were reunited with their families, thanks to Aadhaar card.

Three years ago, Monu was found at the Bangalore railway station by the child protection services and was handed over to the centre. Neelkanth and Om Prakash also reached the centre in a similar fashion, almost a year ago.

Last month when we took the boys to get their Aadhaar card done, the finger prints revealed that their records already exist, wich made tracking their parents possible," said Child Protection Officer Divya Nayanappa.

Monu:

Monu's family in Bangalore says that over two years ago their son had suddenly disappeared from the house. All efforts to locate him failed. And then one day they got the call that their son is in Bangalore.

Om Prakash:

Jagdish Prajapati, who lives in Jharkhand, said that his son Om Prakash went missing from Uttar Pradesh a year ago. He spent the year looking in every nook and corner of the country to find his son. Today, when he met his son at the Bangalore child care centre, he could not stop staring at his son. For Jagdish, Aadhaar is nothing less than a God-send blessing.

Neelkanth:

The story of Neelkanth's family from Chitur, Karnataka is not very different. Meeting their beloved child after a year has given these families a happiness beyond comprehension.

Al three families credited their second lease of lives with their children to Aadhaar card.
