New Delhi:
Amid nationwide anger over recent brutal rape and murder of children at Kathua and Surat, three youths allegedly gang-raped a 12-year-old specially gifted girl last week, police said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light after the victim’s mother received a video on her WhatsApp last Saturday, police said.
According to police, in the video one can see the minor being raped by her neighbour and two other friends.
“We have arrested the three accused. The main accused have been identified as Bunty,” a senior police officer said.
Delhi Police during the course of investigation have learnt that Bunty lured the girl to the community centre in their neighbourhood promising chocolates.
“Two other friends accompanied him and one of them recorded the horrific act,” the police officer added.
The three have been booked under relevant IPC sections, IT act and POSCO Act.
The victim’s family also informed the police that the family members of the accused are forcing them to withdraw the case.
