New Delhi:

A trainee Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in IFS Academy in South Delhi on the early hours of Tuesday morning. His body was found floating in the swimming pool of the Foreign Club Institute, Ber Serai.

A PCR call was received at PS Vasant Vihar during early hours of the morning which claimed that the officer was being taken to hospital.

Upon enquiry, it was learnt that the victim’s name was Ashish Dahiya. Police claimed that he was aged 30 years and a resident of Sonipat, Haryana.

Spot enquiries revealed that the deceased was attending a get together with his friends from Indian Foreign and Revenue Services. During the poolside party late in the evening, the party goers, who were consuming alcohol, decided to go for a swim in the club’s pool.

Eyewitnesses claimed that a lady officer probably had an accidental slip into the pool while swimming and many young officers, including the deceased, attempted to rescue her.
