Well-known author and columnist Shobhaa De drew flak from Twitterati when the writer wrongly assumed an overweight cop of Mumbai police.Â
It seems that she wanted to poke fun at an overweight cop but her wrong understanding invited criticism on Twitter.  A few followers took on authour for body-shaming and poking fun in bad taste.
A twitter follower said that the shoulder badge clearly shows that he is personnel of Madhya Pradesh police, not from a Mumbai one. Â
On the other hand, Mumbai Police expressed his displeasure, saying that they “anticipate better from a responsible citizen†like her.

On Wednesday, the author clarified his stance in reference to Mumbai police, saying that no offence was intended in her tweet. She suggested Madhya Pradesh police to consult a dietician if the image is real. Â

Earlier, De was trolled on Twitter during the Olympics game when she had faced wrath of Twitter users who had slammed the writers for making scoff player like P V Sindhu who clinched silver medal in badminton.
