UP govt announces to shut down liquor shops close to school, temple

Uttar Pradesh power minister Srikant Sharma on Friday informed that the state government would shut down liquor shops if they are located near temple or schools. The minister urged people not to take law in their own hands. 

The power minister said that the government has planned to connect each village with power supply by 2018 and would try to provide 18 hours power supply. He said a contract will be signed with Centre on April 14. 

He said the government would give 20-hour power supply to tehsils while all district headquarters will be given 24 –hour power supply in the state. He said the scheme will know as ‘power for all’, and the government will put effort to implement it soon.
