A spine-chilling incident which has shamed the humanity has been reported from Chattisgarh's Naxal bound area Kanker, where a patient was carried by a family on a cot for 8 kilometres to the hospital from the tribal area's Koilibeda block headquarters.  

The patient was later declared dead during treatment in the hospital, after which the kins of the patient took the dead body back home again on a cot.

The Whole incident originates from Kaker district's Marda village, where 35-year-old Jaan Singh, who was suffering from TB and was taken to Koilibeda Hospital on a cot for treatment, which is located 7 km away from the village.Somehow the villagers were successful in reaching the hospital, but till then Jaan Singh's condition deteriorated and during treatment, he died.

As soon as the family members of Jaan Singh heard the news, they went completely shattered and started expressing their grief. To take back the dead body, the family members appealed the hospital management to provide help, but to their shock, the management responded to take back the body the way they brought it to the hospital- on a cot.

After repeated attempts to get help, the family members of the deceased Jaan Singh tied her dead body to the coat and took it back to their village at last.

Upon getting this information, the District collector of the region suspended the Chief Medical Officer of the Koilibada Community Medical Centre Dr AK Sambhkar with immediate effect.
