Internet services remained suspended in the North 24 Paragans district of West Bengal while section 144 will also remain imposed in the affected areas including violence hit Basirhat and Baduria.
Communal clashes erupted in the North 24 Paragans district of West Bengal on Monday after a Hindu teenager posted an offensive post about the Prophet Mohammed on social networking site Facebook. The boy was later arrested by the Police.
The communal clashes intensified on Tuesday and many incidents of torching bikes and other vehicles reported. The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday joined local police to control the worsening situation. BSF all day patrolled the area to restore calm.
Chief Minister of West Bengal has blamed BJP for spreading the riots in the state for political gain while BJP, on the other hand, said the wild appeasement of the Muslim community by the CM has been the reason for the communal riots.
