Mizo National Front (MNF) MLA Dr K Beichhua won praises from all quarters on Thursday after he successfully operated upon a pregnant woman at Siaha Civil Hospital in absence of its medical in-charge.
According to reports, Dr Beichhua was in his constituency when he learnt about the plight of woman's family and decided to help them. He immediately rushed to the hospital and performed the surgery.
Beichhua was told that the in-charge of the hospital was on leave and there were no medical assistants to provide relief to the patients.
Both woman and her child are in good health and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
