UP CM Yogi Adityanath Govt, Day 2: Security in UP temples to be strengthened ahead of Navratra

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday issued instructions to strengthen security in temples across Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Basant Navratra festival.

He also directed administrative and police officials to ensure necessary facilities to pilgrims visiting the Shaktipeeths during the festival that begins on March 28.

“Instructions have also been issued to strengthen security measures, while keeping close watch on anti-social elements. Keeping in mind Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya, directives have been issued to ensure adequate security measure and facilities are put in place,” an official release issued here said.

While issuing the directives, the CM warned officials that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.

“Emphasis has also been laid on traffic management, so that devotees do not face any problems in reaching the temples besides directives have also been issued to erect appropriate barricade for crowd control,” the release said.

“The CM is of the view that a large number of tourists both from the country and abroad visit Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami. It is imperative to provide qualitative public convenience facilities, while making adequate security arrangements,” it added.

The CM also said a team of doctors should be ready to attend to any exigency.

Earlier, UP cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma told reporters, “The security apparatus of all the temples, Shaktipeeths and Devalayas will be strengthened and their overall security enhanced.”

Sharma also said the state government would make available all the basic and infrastructural facilities to pilgrims.

The facilities include provision of safe drinking water, electricity, cleanliness and sanitation, he said.
