The IPL storm is gathering momentum as the best of best flex their tricks of the trade match after match. As the heat beats down the field on the thirty third day, can Delhi Daredevils turn the tables on SunRisers Hyderabad is the question on many minds.
In the match number 42 of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Daredevils will lock horns with SunRisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.
Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the top of the Points table with eight wins and 16 points while Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Daredevils is at the bottom of the Standings with just three wins and six points.
In the last encounter between these two teams, SunRisers Hyderabad outshined Delhi Daredevils and won the match by seven wickets. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan became the Man of the Match.
Despite change in the leadership, Delhi Daredevils could not manage to change their luck and performance as per the expectations of the management.
Three out of four overseas picks, including Glenn Maxwell, Colin Munro and Jason Roy, have not contributed much for the squad.
While SunRisers Hyderabad has been lucky with their skipper’s performance. Kane Williamson has contributed and stood by the team whenever required. SunRisers has 100 per cent record while defending totals.
However, Delhi Daredevils has two in-form batsmen in their squad - Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant - who have contributed around 750 runs together in the matches played so far.
Even Prithvi Shaw has played some of the finest innings in this season and impressed the senior management with his performance.
Talking about the bowling side, Delhi has Trent Boult and Amit Mishra who are the leading wicket-takers in the squad whereas SunRisers Hyderabad has an excellent bowling line-up where every bowler has conceded good number of wickets.
Match Predictions – On papers, SunRisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils has faced each other on 11 different occasions where Hyderabad coming out on top seven times and Delhi winnings just four games.
Statistically, SunRisers will have a little edge over the Daredevils but if Delhi's in-form batsmen performed well today, they have the capabilities to turn the result of the match in their way.
It will be interesting to see whether SunRisers continue to rule at the top of the tables with one more win or Delhi fights to survive in the tournament.
