It’s match number 50 of Indian Premier League, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians to lock horns with Ashwin’s Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

With just two spots remaining for the Play-offs, five teams will have to fight real hard to avoid elimination.

At the Points Table, Mumbai Indians are at the sixth spot with ten points whereas Kings XI Punjab are just above MI with 12 points.

In the beginning of the League, Kings XI Punjab were at the top of the tables with five win out of six matches and since then, things are all going south for the KXIP.

In the most recent match against RCB, Kings XI Punjab were bundled out for just 88 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match easily by 10 wickets.

Talking about the last three games played, Kings XI Punjab has lost all their three games while Mumbai Indians won two out of three matches.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians cannot afford to lose one more match in the tournament. It will be interesting to see whether MI can pull this one up and keep their hopes alive. Mumbai Indians has already beaten Kings XI Punjab once this year.

On the batting side, Mumbai Indians has Suryakumae Yadav, Rohit Sharma while Kings XI Punjab has the powerful hitter Chris Gayle and KL Rahul in the squad.

The bowling lineup of Mumbai Indians consists of few wicket-taking bowlers such as Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell McClenaghan while KXIP has the skipper R Ashwin

Match Predictions – Statistically, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians always had neck-to-neck contests and out of 21 matches played, Mumbai managed to win 11 and Kings XI Punjab won 10 games.

At the Wankhede Stadium, out of the seven matches played between the two teams, MI won just three games while KXIP won four of them.
