India's Manushi Chillar crowned Miss World 2017

New Delhi:

India has got a major reason to celebrate after Miss India Manushi Chillar got crowned as Miss World 2017 on Saturday. Manushi was competing with 118 contestants from various countries at the Miss World 2017 event which was held Sanya City Arena

Chillar became the sixth Indian to grab the title and is bringing the crown to India after a hiatus of 17 years. Notably, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was last Indian to win the title in 2000.

Manushi got crowned by Miss World 2016 winner Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle who gave the coveted crown to the winner. She also won oth the Head to Head challenge and the Beauty during the Miss World 2017 competition.

 

Apart from Manushi Chillar, Miss Mixico was the first Runner's Up and Miss England was the Second Runner's Up at the prestigious event.

Talking about the new Miss World 2017, Manushi Chillar hails from Haryana and was also Femina Miss India 2017 early this year.
