Chhattisgarh researcher develops new formula to cure cancer

New Delhi:

A woman from Chhattisgarh's Raipur has claimed to have found a new formula to cure cancer. Mamata Tripathi, a researcher by profession, said that her formula can kill up to 80 per cent of the cancer cells.

Tripathi said that her team has successfully completed the lab tests and the next step will be to test the formula on small living beings.

"The research took 4.5-5 years. This can kill 70-80% of cancer cells. We had done a lab test which was successful. Next step is to test on small living being like mice," ANI quoted Tripathi said saying.

The young researcher also claimed that if successful the formula will be a potential alternative to the painful chemotherapy being currently used to treat cancer.

"It is at an initial stage so can't say right now if this will be an alternative to chemotherapy. But, if our research moves in the right direction then this can be a positive option. Also, it will be much less painful than chemotherapy," she said.

Cancer is a life-threatening disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. Currently, chemotherapy is the most effective treatment for cancer.

In this treatment, doctors use anti-cancer drugs as part of a standardised chemotherapy to reduce symptoms. However, chemotherapy is a painful treatment with several side effects. If Tripathi's formula is successful, it would be a major breakthrough towards finding a cure for the deadly disease.
