Organ Donation Day is celebrated on 13th of August every year by the people in India. On this day, government organizations and other related professionals organises campaigns and other programs in order to motivate people to donate the organs as well as to make them understand the value and importance of organ donation in the life of an individual.

Who can donate organ?

One of the biggest question that comes in mind when you talk about organ donation is who can be a donar?. Well, an organ donor can be anyone of which the organ can be transplanted to the patient urgently require. The organ donated by the normal human being is saved properly to transplant into the patient whenever he or she require. If organ is suggessfuly donated than one can get the new life through the organ transplantation donated by someone.

Importance of Organ donation:

According to the report, around 5 lakhs of the Indians are dying every year just because of the failure of their major organs. The organ transplantation could play a major role in the persons life by increasing their period of living a life more than expectations. The donor of the organs plays a role of God in their life. One organ donor can save more than 8 lives in his life by donating his well function organs.

-You can download the Donor Form by clicking on aiims.edu/aiims/orbo/form.html . 

-Fill in your particulars and the information solicited. 

-You have to take signatures of two witnesses (at least one of whom is a near relative) and mail it to:Organ Retrieval Banking Organization (ORBO)
