New Delhi :

Men, there are no bones in your penis, but you are still at risk of penile fracture, or putting in simple words, breaking the penis.

This was revealed by a recently conducted research to find out the most dangerous sexual positions for men and the experts identified and analysed the relationship between sexual position and severity of penile fracture in heterosexual encounters.

Penile fracture is caused by rapid blunt force to an erect penis, usually during vaginal intercourse, or aggressive masturbation. Penile fracture symptoms include a popping or cracking sound, significant pain, swelling, immediate loss of erection leading to flaccidity, and skin hematoma (a localized collection of blood outside the blood vessels) of various sizes.

The study found that the doggy style or rear-entry position was the most dangerous position for men accounting for whopping 41 per cent penile fractures in men.

The most famous and common, Missionary position or man-on-top position was the second most risky sexual position for penile fractures with a 25 per cent risk of penile fracture cases.

The third position was the cowgirl position (woman on top) or the reverse missionary position, the study said.

The authors of the study said, "We do not observe differences between the severity of the penile fracture between the 'doggy style' and 'man-on-top', but the 'doggy style' had more severity of penile fracture when compared with 'woman-on-top."
