Chandrashekhar Azad, an Indian revolutionary joined the freedom struggle at the tender age of 15. Better known as Azad (Free) he was the chief strategist of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA).

His favourite saying was: Dushman ki goliyon ka hum samna karenge, Azad hi rahein hain, azad hi rahenge !                Alfred Park which is situtaed in Allhabad , where he became a martyr, was renamed as Chandrasekhar Azad Park.
