Lights go out around the world for 10th anniversary of Earth Hour

Earth Hour is world's biggest grassroots movement, an idea of encouraging people to turn off their unnecessary lights for an hour. It is an annual gesture to show care for our planet, marked every year at the end of March. A number of individuals, communities, organization and institute celebrate the event by plunging into darkness for an hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. It is not only about switching off lights for an hour and move on, rather it is for putting the issues on the spotlight right now the planet going through. It is to make people aware to live more sustainably and think a while before taking steps which may harm the planet. This year the event took place on Saturday, March 25, 2017. It is an environmental movement organized by the 'World Wide Fund for Nature' was inaugurated in Sydney, Australia in 2007 as a light-off event. The movement is spreading across the world with an impressive number of growth each year. This year thousands of famous locations landmarks and monuments took part in the 10th anniversary of this grass root movement on Saturday, 25th of March.
