Legendary Indian cricketer and now Member of Rajya Sabha Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday made his appearance in the house after he drew criticism from a few parliamentarians.
Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal had questioned Tendulkar and actress Rekha’s absence, saying that why not their membership should be disqualified.
He had said, “Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha must resign from the Upper House if they are not interested.” Another sports player and MP Mary Kom was also present in the House.
Actress Rekha is the worst performers in terms of attendance in the Upper House.
Bollywood star and Mumbai-North MP Govinda did not attend the Lok Sabha at all during this period.
Vetaran actor Dharmendra did not ask a single question or participate in any debate and his attendance was a dismal 1.5 per cent.
However, actor-dancer Hema Malini, a nominated Rajya Sabha member from the BJP, fared better with 10 per cent attendance. She asked 179 questions and participated in the upper house debates 15 times.
