Shaheed Bhagat Singh was one of the most vibrant revolutionaries during the national movement. He was born in 1907. At a very young age he got involved in revolutionary movement. In 1926, Bhagat Singh founded the 'Naujavan Bharat Sabha (Youth Society of India) and joined the Hindustan Republican Association (later known as Hindustan Socialist Republican Association). He called for "Poorna swaraj" from the British rule.His mentor Lala Lajpat Rai was succumbed to injuries while protesting against the Simon Commission. To avenge his death, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru killed Saunders (one of the deputy officers in connection with the Simon Commission).
Both he and his party were against "Trade Union Dispute Bill" and "Public Safety Bill". He decided to oppose these bills by throwing a bomb in the Central Assembly Hall on April 9,1929 although it was not meant to injure any one.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh's grandfather, Arjun Singh followed Swami Dayananda Saraswati's Hindu reformist movement, Arya Samaj, which has played a major role in his life.
In 1919, when Bhagat Singh was 12 years old, he visited the site of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre hours after thousands of unarmed people gathered at a public meeting was killed.
Bhagat Singh joined the Hindustan Republican Association, which had prominent leaders, such as Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil and Shahid Ashfaqallah Khan.
Bhagat Singh was a prominent member of the HRA and was probably responsible, in large part, for its change of name to HSRA in 1928.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh was arrested on March 23, 1931, he was hanged to death along with Shivram Rajguru, and Sukhdev. His act of sacrifice and devotion to motherland will always inspire generations to come.
