Michael Phelps on Tuesday scored his 20th and 21st gold medals at Rio Olympics 2016. Creating history in a dramatic style, Phelps has won golds at 4x200 freestyle relay, 200 meters butterfly title and 4x100 relay at the current Olympics games. With Tuesday’s game, the swimming champion’s individual medal tally has touched 25: 21 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronze. If Phelps was a country he would have been ranked 39 in all time gold medals, ahead of Austria, Argentina, Mexico and Ethiopia.

The American crushed rival Chad le Clos to regain his 200 metres butterfly title, celebrating victory in a race bristling with tension by pointing to the sky and gesturing to the Rio crowd to “bring the noise”—an order they duly obeyed.

This is Phelps fifth and final Olympics. The champion had retired four years ago, only to return for what he terms as ‘real farewell’, which will send him out the way he really wants to go.
