Scientists have been trying to find out the prime candidates for life within our solar system and all of the necessary things to support life have now been found on one of the moons that orbits Saturn.
NASA has just announced that ‘Enceladus’ has chemicals that when found on Earth tend to indicate life, suggesting that there might be living things under its icy shell.
From a long time scientists have thought of Enceladus as one of the most probable candidates for life within the solar system, in large part because of its subsurface ocean that covers its entire body.
The new research suggests that Saturn’s this moon has a chemical energy source capable of supporting life.
It was after the Cassini spacecraft which flew through a huge plume of water that the findings surfaced up. The spacecraft took reading of water and sent it back to earth for study.
Through the study what surfaced up is that the moon has hydrogen for ecosystems. Further study shows that it has large amounts of carbon dioxide.
Researchers believe that three ingredients are needed for supporting life on earth water, organic molecules and a source of energy. So far water and organic molecules have been found on Enceladus, but the new research shows all the three ingredients are present.
