Updated On : 11 Sep,2018 | 08:51 AM
Fuel prices have been on a rise since August 16 and people are witnessing sharp rise almost every day owing to a drop-in rupee value against the US dollar and rise in crude oil price. There has been a nationwide outrage following the sharp rise in fuel prices and the Congress called for a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Monday due to the increase in fuel prices and the massive drop in rupee value against the US Dollar. Many are asking the government to put petroleum under Goods and Service Taxes (GST) so that the sharp increase in fuel prices can be controlled.
