New Delhi:
India on Sunday took massive 292-run lead on the second day of the third Test against England at Trent Brudge, Nottingham. At stumps, India were 124/2 with skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara still at the crease.
Earlier in the day, India bowled out England at 161 runs in their first innings at the tea. Defending first innings total of 329, Hardik Pandya led from the front for India and took five wickets for just 28 runs.
Indian seamers wreaked havoc at English batsman, who were bundled out in just 38.2 overs. Apart from Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma took two wickets each. England now trail India by 168 runs.
Earlier, it was not a bad start for England chasing India’s first innings total of 329 runs and openers - Alastair Cook (29) and Keaton Jennings (20) – provided the team with a decent 54 runs first wicket partnership.

Till the time of lunch, hosts crossed 50 in the 10th over. Post lunch, Kohli handed the bowl to Ishant Sharma, who dismissed Cook for the tenth time in Test cricket. In the next over, Bumrah removed Jennings caught behind on the very first ball.

Olliver Pope (10) and Joe Root (16) added 21 runs for the third wicket, but Sharma's fuller lengths caused all sort of troubles for both the batsman.
After this, Pandya took the ball and made sure the English batsman doesn’t recover from the back to back blows. He started with a big fish – skipper Joe Root – and then soon sent in-form Jonny Bairstow (15) back to the hut.

England were reeling at 108 for 5 in the 30th over and Mohammed Shami (1/56) ended Ben Stokes' struggle with KL Rahul claiming a good catch. But Pandya wasn't done just yet. His next three wickets came in the space of three balls across the 31st and 33rd over, during which he was on a hattrick as well. Pandya accounted for both Chris Woakes (8) and Adil Rashid (5) as Pant collected his fifth catch in only his first Test outing.
