The Indian Premier League (IPL) has launched the anthem for the Vivo IPL 2018 edition, which is set to begin on April 7 with the first match being played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and three-time champions Chennai Super Kings.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Star India have collaborated, in a first time, to create the anthem for the upcoming campaign this year, with a hashtag of ‘Best vs Best’, which puts the spotlight on what the IPL stands for, pitting the best against the best in the T20 cricket format.

The lyrics, music, and the video of the anthem of the Vivo IPL 2018 ‘Best vs Best’ bring out the competition between the team, along with pressing the spirit of the league.

The anthem has been officially released in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali, across all the digital platforms, Television channels, and radio coverages.

Th authorities controlling the IPL 2018 are enthusiastic enough to make the anthem reach the hearts of the people and embed the team spirit and competitiveness in them.

The talented ensemble who worked on the theme song include South African film maker Dan Mace, music director Raajeev V Bhalla, and vocalist Siddhart Basrur, who sung the anthem in the five different languages.

Rahul Johri, CEO of BCCI, said, “The very essence of IPL is a thrilling, action-packed celebration of cricket where the best of talent take on each other in one of the most gruelling cricket tournaments in the world. It is a fantastic celebration of both the game and its millions of fans across the world. The Best vs Best campaign endeavours to showcase the pinnacle of cricket that this tournament is associated with.”

The IPL 2018 is set to start on April 7 and end on May 27 at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium.
