Hashim Amla's brilliant century went in vain as Mumbai Indians staged a stunning batting display against the Kings XI Punjab on Thursday pulling off a stunning eight-wicket win in a high-scoring Indian Premier League match.
Riding high on explosive batting display by opener Hashim Amla and captain Glenn Maxwell, the Kings set a 199-run target for the visitors. Amla made 108 runs in just 60 balls, while Maxwell contributed a quickfire 40 off just 18 deliveries.
A thought. Is a pitch where the bowlers are expelled a good pitch? Isn't it as good or as bad as one in which the batsmen have no chance?— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 20, 2017
Nitish Rana, who made 62 runs off just 34 balls, finished the job with 4.3 overs to spare. Batting at number three position, Rana has scored four half centuries so far in the tournament with the scoreline of 70, 50, 53 and 62.
The Holkar Stadium pitch turned into a nightmare for bowlers as 398 runs were scored in both the innings.
The stadium witnessed 24 towering sixes and 30 boundaries as batsmen showcased their skills to the maximum.
