Rising Pune Supergiants pulled off a brilliant 4-wicket win against two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday thanks to a superb 93-run knock by rookie batsman Rahul Tripathi.
After winning the toss, Supergiants invited KKR to bat first and restricted them to 155 for eight.
Chasing the target, the visitor's stumbled initially as they lost Ajinkya Rahane in the first over. However, Tripathi continued his power hitting that kept their run rate above 10.
The visitors kept losing wickets on regular interval but their run rate kept them in a comfortable position and the target within their reach.
The Supergiants got home with four balls to spare making it three wins in as many matches. With the result, Pune have moved up to third place in the points table and closer to a play-off berth with 14 points from 11 matches. With their second straight loss, KKR remain second in the table with 14 points from 11 matches.
