After Ravindra Jadeja ran through the Australian top order by casting a web with his menacing spin, Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb offered stiff resistance to help the Aussies get back into the game and defy the Indian a win at Ranchi

After the Aussies captain Steven Smith and opener provided some resistance in the morning session, Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja scalped three quick wickets to put the visitors on the backfoot. The Indians are clearly in a commanding position with the visitors still trailing by 69 runs at Lunch.

It was advantage India at stumps on Day 4 with the Indian bowlers sending back opener David Warner and nightwatchman Nathan Lyon cheaply to the pavilion. The Indians put up an imposing on 603 board courtesy a double ton by Cheteshwar Pujara, who was well supported by Saha who scored a century.
