India was in a commanding position at the end of Day 3 of the Galle Test after their bowlers delivered on all fronts by folding Sri Lanka for 291 in their first innings. Indian skipper Virat Kohli dint enforce the follow on on the hosts and choose to bat again to press on the lead and gain complete control on the match. Sri Lanka' pacer Dilruwan Perera struck early to remove first innings' centurion Shikhar Dhawan early. However, skipper Virat Kohli and opener Abhinav Mukund stitched together a formidable partnership to end the day for India with a commanding lead of 489 runs.
India would look to make further inroads into the Lankan batting order by exploiting the early swing on offer in the wicket in the morning session.
