India trounced Sri Lanka by 304 runs in the first Test at Galle. The Indians declared their second innings at 240 for 3, thereby posting a massive 550 run target for the hosts. The Indian seamers rocked the Lankans with early wickets before opener Dimuth Karunaratne and Niroshan Dickwella forged a valiant partnership to get the Lankan innings back on track. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin weaved some spin magic to rip through the Lankan middle order. Karunaratne fell three short of his century as Ravichandran Ashwin scalped him at 97. Ravindra Jadeja polished off the tail by dismissing Lahiru Kumara.The Lankan innings folded for 245, giving India its biggest win in terms of runs on foreign soil.
