New Delhi:

The draw for UEFA Champions League quarter-final is over and we have some mouth-watering fixtures in the upcoming rounds as the European footballing heavyweights lock horns for the ultimate prize in club football.

The quarter-final draw which took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon gave us some exciting fixtures to look forward to. The teams which have qualified for the quarters are current title holders Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Sevilla, and Roma.

The mega draw which was conducted by UEFA’s deputy general secretary & director Giorgio Marchetti and the balls were picked up by UCL Final Ambassador Andriy Shevchenko.

Current title holders Real Madrid will face off against Italian giants Juventus in the quarter-final this year. The last time these two footballing giants met in 2016/17 final, Madrid defeated Juventus with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a brace. It would be interesting to see what happens this time.

Whereas in the big English Premier League face off, Manchester City will face five times champion, Liverpool. The Reds are the only side that has been able to defeat the high-flying Manchester City this season in Premier League. But this tie has the potential to be one blockbuster of a game.

In the other games, Spanish giants Barcelona will take on tricky Italian side AS Roma, although Barcelona are clear favourites to advance in the next round but AS Roma are well capable of pulling out a shock. Could be one interesting tie if Roma gets all their moves right on the pitch.

The Quarter-final will also see German Champions Bayern Munich lock horns with the first time appearing Sevilla who are riding high on confidence after beating Premier League giants Manchester United in the Round of 16.

The first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals will be played on April 3rd and April 4th, with the return legs to be played a week later on April 10th and April 11th.
