The Indian hockey team which came back home after winning the Asia Cup hockey tournament in Dhaka was greeted to a rousing welcome by fans at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi on Monday.

The Indian hockey team which came back home after winning the Asia Cup hockey tournament in Dhaka was greeted to a rousing welcome by fans at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi on Monday. 

Speaking on India's stellar show in the showpiece event, a delighted Indian midfielder Sardara Singh said Our team had been unbeatable in this tournament and this will help motivate the players

The Indian team defeated  Malaysia in the grand finale to win the Asia Cup for the third time. India remained unbeaten all through the tournament, topping their group and kept their good form going in the Super 4 stages to secure a place in the finals of the tournament.

India reproduced their rich goal scoring form in the title clash against Malaysia as strikes from Lalit Upadhyay and Harmanpreet Singh helped India become hockey champions of Asia. It is notable that India has already qualified for the 2018 World Cup courtesy them hosting the showpiece tournament next year.
