IND v PAK Asia Cup Hockey: India aim to keep winning streak alive

India is set to clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday evening in the Asia Cup hockey championship. The Indians have had a dream run till now in the tournament and have registered big victories against Japan (5-1) and hosts Bangladesh (7-0). 

The Indian hockey team has already defeated Pakistan twice during the Hero Hockey World League semi-final in June 2017. However, the new match among the subcontinental rivals bring with it renewed excitement for the lovers of the sport.

Indian captain Manpreet Singh said that the team has not made any extra preparations for the match against Pakistan. He claimed that the team’s aim is to beat all the opponents in their pool while making it to the next stage.

Pakistan has had a mixed outing thus far in the tournament. Although they mauled Bangladesh in their campaign-opener, Japan held them to a 2-2 draw.

India is currently the top-ranked team in Pool A with six points from two massive wins whereas Pakistan is placed second with four points.
