New Delhi:

Former world no. 1 Saina Nehwal is not happy with the planning of major badminton events.

“The scheduling of events is not done properly for next year. For the top players, it is going to be very challenging to choose tournament,” said Nehwal.

“There are so many tournaments including the few prestigious ones. Some tournaments are also mandatory to play. It is going to be very challenging for the players to pick and choose the events,” added Nehwal.

Nehwal has won over 21 international titles including 10 Superseries titles. She is the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player, after Prakash Padukone, to achieve this feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance.

Nehwal is the only Indian to have won at least a medal in every BWF major individual event, namely the Olympics, the BWF World Championships, and the BWF World Junior Championships.
